WebShare 2Go 2.0 / macOS: Empty page in Safari
Note: SCENE WebShare 2Go is a discontinued product. FARO will not further develop this product and future versions of SCENE will no longer support it.
From version 7.1 of SCENE you can use the successor SCENE 2go (related product) instead.
The SCENE 2go Viewer is supported on recent macOS versions. The problem described here does not appear in SCENE 2go.
When opening WebShare 2Go 2.0 in Safari on macOS, an empty page might show up instead of the user interface. This is due to recent changes in Safari 11.0.
How to fix:
1. Open Safari.
2. Ensure that the Develop menu shows up in the menu bar. If you don’t see the Develop menu in the menu bar, choose Safari > Preferences, click Advanced, then select Show Develop menu in menu bar.
3. In the Develop menu, enable the option Disable Local File Restrictions.
Opening a WebShare 2Go 2.0 USB drive should work now as expected, using the shortcut Start_WebShare_2Go_2.0_on_Mac.command.
