Project Manager Access in the Data Filter Panel
Figure 95: Data Filter Panel
Project manager access enables an user with a Project Manager role to load all objects within a project without write lock. These objects could even be those created by others, or objects which are not shared. This allows project managers to edit all content within a project without having to ask the creator for assistance.
This could be used in the following scenarios:
Someone shared objects not meant for sharing (sensitive data) => the project manager can overwrite the share settings.
Someone unshared accidentally an object which is essential for others users => the project manager can overwrite the share settings.
Someone created offensive/inappropriate content => the project manager can edit or delete the content.
Someone created important content but is not in the company any longer => the project manager could inspect the private content and change the share level.
This also could be used to edit content that was exported by SCENE and which is sort of write-locked:
The scans and other objects can be renamed.
The scans and other objects can be categorized and tagged.
The scans and other objects can be shared with write access or can be hidden (using Only Creator as audience).
The property page shows why an object has write-access. The row for administrative access can help project managers distinguish between objects they could edit anyway, and objects they could only edit with administrative access.
Removing the filter setting for administrative access restores the original write-lock state of all objects and unloads inaccessible objects.
